From a Moment to a Movement

A Dream Deferred by
Proposition 300

ADAC was born during one of the most difficult moments for immigrant students in Arizona. The passing of Proposition 300 drastically increased tuition costs for undocumented students and stripped them of access to public scholarships. For many families, this sudden barrier meant dreams of higher education became unreachable.

But a group of courageous students at Arizona State University refused to stay silent. They formed a support group where they could share their stories, encourage each other, and find strength in community.

Over time, this group evolved into a movement and eventually into the Arizona Dream Act Coalition, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

The organization became known for its unapologetic stance. Members stepped into the public eye as “Undocumented and Unafraid”, helping shift the narrative around immigrant youth while advocating for policies that protect their futures.

While others fell silent, a group of courageous students at Arizona State University spoke up. They formed a support group—not just to study, but to survive. They shared stories, found strength in community, and refused to let their status define their future.
