MIAMI, FL – People en Español will honor 25 women for their influence and contributions to society. Strength, dedication, courage and determination are the words that define actresses, singers, journalists, entrepreneurs and activists chosen in the 2014 list.

Other honorees by People en Español include, actresses and entrepreneurs like Eva Longoria, Sofia Vergara, singer and philanthropist Shakira, journalist Barbara Bermudo and TV presenter Myrka Dellanos among others.

“This recognition belongs to members of the Arizona DREAM Act Coalition and Carl Hayden Falcon Robotics. These two groups have inspired me to fight for the Latino community and change the culture to one where immigrants are valued for their contributions to America in the areas of human rights and STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math” said Dulce Matuz

“I am grateful to be here closely witnessing the triumphs and achievements of my daughter. It is a true victory to demonstrate to the community that you can succeed in any circumstances regardless of social, economic or immigration status. We just have to work on what we are passionate about and the blessings will come.” Rosa Maria Soto stated.

Dulce Matuz is co-founder and current President of the Arizona DREAM Act Coalition.  She is the owner of American Traditions Realty, LLC., graduate from ASU with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Falcon Robotics mentor for Carl Hayden High School and weekly columnist for Mixed Voces. Matuz was also recognized by Time Magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2012.


It is the vision of the Arizona DREAM Act Coalition to create a nation of fully educated and integrated immigrant youth. It is the mission of the ADAC to promote the educational success of immigrant youth, to increase civic engagement and advocate for the passage of the DREAM Act and Immigration Reform.
